What’s This Course About
This course equips housing professionals with the knowledge and confidence to meet their legal duties under The Hazards in Social Housing (Prescribed Requirements) (England) Regulations 2025 and the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). You’ll learn how to identify, assess, and respond to to emergency hazards.
Named after Awaab Ishak, a two-year-old boy who tragically died due to prolonged exposure to mould, The Hazards in Social Housing (Prescribed Requirements) (England) Regulations 2025 marks a turning point in tenant safety. In addition to the identification of damp mould hazards introduced in October 2025, from November 2026, social landlords must act within defined timescales to investigate and resolve Electrical hazards, Fire risks and explosions, Falls, Structural collapse, Excess cold and heat and domestic hygiene hazards. This course helps you understand what these hazards are, how to assess their severity, and how to act quickly and compliantly.
